From the Kitchen

We had a great summer this year! We had an awesome group of kitchen staff this year working hard to ensure everything went well. We had some great food and we tried some new things.

This year we did our picnic cookout meals outside at the beach party which was a lot of fun for everyone. We served around 70,000 meals this summer! We have already started the planning for next summer! While things are beginning to slow down around camp as we get closer to the holidays we have been hard at work with plenty of cleaning projects around the kitchen as well. We are hoping to fix the seal around our walk-in freezer door to help stop the escaping air around the current seal and replace the chipping and broken tiles in the doorway. We are also looking to acquire a pair of hot buffet tables for our serving room along with a few new bread racks for us in the back.

With Avalanche Camps just a short couple of months away, we are also getting ready for that. I am super excited for the snow this year, I love camp in the winter with a fresh blanket of snow. It’s a nice time of year to slow down a little after a super busy summer full of crazy adventures and occasional mishaps. I am excited to continue serving God by cooking and cleaning for our groups as the kitchen is a very crucial piece of the amazing ministry we get to do here.
